It was, cloudy, unbelievably dark, wet and rainy this morning, but , it washed off all the mushrooms for me and made some of them glisten. I feel guilty for not using pixel shift,

K-1 and DFA 100macro 2.8 WR.
Mostly ƒ8, 800 ISO, AV

If you look at the forrest floor long enough, sooner or later you come upon something a little different.
Hi Norm

Another nice set there

Here's a couple of shots I took today of a sunflower in my garden. My lovely wife is that "white blob" in the background.

The first was taken at f/1.4, the second at f/2.4. Which do you prefer and why?

[/IMG]

I prefer the second shot @ f/2.4, the leaves close to the flower have a bit more definition and the flower stands out more...just the way I see it.
Best Regards, Bob

From the GPS, the position of the camera is known, but the orientation of the camera relative to polar star can only be known from getting correct compass information, otherwise the software couldn't know in what X,Y direction the sensor should move to track stars. An error from compass translate in sensor motion that does not completely compensate for the relative motion of stars, and the error gets more visible when the focal length gets longer.
Thanks, that's very helpful, I had no idea there was a compass within the camera. I'll remember to calibrate with the tripod attached next time I try for the Milky Way. Afraid that won't happen until next summer

A few shots with the DA *55.

A Misty Sunrise.

Wall at f1.4.

Wall at f2

(posted the last two photos mainly so people can see DA *55 performance on full frame -- seems to be of interest with the recent release of the DFA *50 ).
