Originally planned as blending two or three exposures, but it turns out one single exposure worked out better.
Pixelshift, DFA 15-30 @ f/8 and 13 seconds.

Somehow the flickr compression seems to degrade the sharpness quite a lot.

Portrait bokeh

My friend Bill.

KIT: K-1 with D FA 50mm f 28 macro. On full frame, the 50mm does not seem too wide for me.

Thanks, that's very helpful, I had no idea there was a compass within the camera. I'll remember to calibrate with the tripod attached next time I try for the Milky Way. Afraid that won't happen until next summer
Wow nice as usual!

As always you post images worthy of prolonged appreciation. And thank you for spreading them over several posts rather than combining them in one as is your usual style. Soon we can all go back to normal - - more or less.
You are really a master at this! Nice!

The image on Flickr looks a lot sharper than it appears here. Is that what you meant?

Yes, this. (And also on Flickr zooming in it's by far not as sharp as the uploaded original.)
