That is neat (if nor shocking, or electrifying, or maybe illuminating). A good evening to stay on the porch rather than crossing the street to get a closer perspective.
I was even a little hesitant to go on the porch at its peak! For a while it was coming from multiple directions. Definitely a time to be safe at home!

Yes. Dangerous stuff, sometimes in unexpected ways. Probably twice I've posted the story of time the family was getting out of the car to look at a canyon that was guarded by a chain-link fence with a thunderstorm off to the south (flash, count one-two-three-four-BOOM). Then suddenly, the fence began to crackle and pop, sending three or four inch (7.5~10cm) sparks off onto nearby foliage. We retreated to the car. Perhaps not enough voltage to be deadly, but that much current would leave a nasty burn and jolt your brain. The storm was nowhere near atop us, but the atmosphere all around must have been charged with electricity. Scary

Don't worry Dave, I've got a bicycle standing in the kitchen and plenty of others in the cellar.

Well spotted, it's a 500cc single, 4 stroke, 4 valves. You're right with British too, it's a Rudge Special from '37.

Heh nice! That Matchless sounds very interesting!

Being totally 'civilised' is overrated

I was at a "Grand Prix Memorial" event today and founds some Rudge owners that will help out with some parts (I've got more than on the picture obviously, but a lot is toast!)
Took 570 shots today so I'll have more stuff to share later

I look forward to your pictures of vintage motorcycles.
