Rescued while mowing the lawn, which explains the little bits of grass sticking to him.

K-1 and DFA 100 macro

Thanks. I'll have to admit that I'm not fully satisfied with the images. Exposure on the star part of the image was too long (3 minutes), the stars are streaking away from the center, and the foreground could have used longer exposure (also three minutes). But it's a work in progress. Next time I'll have a better idea of what to do.

A much simpler image, the Carson Mansion in Eureka, CA, shot with the FA 20-35:

This lens is growing on me. I bought it for birding and distant subjects, but am finding it great for lots of other stuff as well. The big zoom keeps on surprising me with it's bokeh (It can do subtle bokeh, or almost as wild as an old school biotar if you push it) and it's AF speed on the K-1. I hear it is even better on the MKII, which I am sorely tempted to do to mine.

It is a great lens with a lot of possibilities. I have had mine for 3 years now and love it. Seeing the current price I almost want another one but i just got my school tax bill today. You never own your house you just rent it from your liege lords.

Might be a Jefferson's salamander*. At least in my area they are not at all common.
