From my May 2016 visit to Yellowstone. Stitched from two images taken with my D FA 150-450 lens at 250mm. Just playing around with the Microsoft ICE stitching program.

Very interesting set of images. The footprints really tweak the imagination (= What? Where? Why?). I purchased an Oly OME 10 MKii a while back for traveling, as I found the K1 overly heavy, and the 150~450mm so heavy I left it in the car many times. But I've become addicted to MFT. My Pana/Leica 100~400mm (200~800mm FF equivalent) is more compact and lighter that my 60~250mm. Sacrifice quality? Yes. But gain convenience? More than enough to compensate for the loss of IQ. I have osteoarthritis in my right hand (trapezium bone at base of my thumb is pincushion-like). Makes it hard or painful to grip and hold, and the difference in weight from the K3 to the MFT is really significant, the K1 is a real problem to hand-hold.
Thanks. That image with the foot prints are actually from a sculpture located within the UN compound in Manhattan. I'll take a different photo of it tomorrow and post it here.

As for the Olympus; I actually like it. It's really small and convenient to carry around.

Some industrial stuff. Pure white background done in-camera, no masking in post needed, both screws in one shot. Just a little D&B and sharpening.
Focus stacking at f/16 still needed 10 images to get all in focus although they are just 10cm long each (4in).

These are medical implants for broken bones. 100mm macro WR. No Pixelshift because too much diffraction at f/16.

Excellent. I'd love a BTS shot! I'm confused at the 'Pure white background done in-camera', what do you mean by this? I take it no flash use otherwise there would be shadows, so was this just taken in one of those soft light boxes for product photography? How are you focus stacking? What equipment and methodology are you using?

Well... you know you have a good lens when an brand spanking new FA 77 arrives in the mail yet the Lensbaby Velvet 56 refuses to budge off yer K-1!

Bruce, You are doing some really cool stuff with the Lensbaby! But I was a little shocked to see you letting go of not only the Samyang 85mm but also the DFA100WR so soon! (I really really liked the output you were getting from the Samyang!)

But, I know how you feel about lenses getting stuck on the K-1... I've had that exact same problem with the DFA150-450mm... and I too have a new (to me) FA77mm Limited sitting there waiting for the DFA to come off the K-1. LOL! But, I understand and sort of expect I too will be deciding on weather to keep the macro or the FA77 in the long term, once I get to play with the legendary Limited and compare the practicality of owning both. I do a lot of macro... and not a lot of head and shoulder portraits, but, I think the FA77 might have a spot in my bag still. We'll see.

A little break from the flutterby's (don't worry, there's more! I hope they don't become as annoying as squirrels... )

So how about some moorhens and chicks?

Duck Lake. This was formed by a hydrothermal explosion between 6,000 and 8,000 years ago. In the background is the West Thumb of Yellowstone Lake and beyond are the mountains of the Absoraka Range.

Now I have to show my babies too ... not every baby looks beautiful I guess.

Please forgive me, this time KP•DA55-300PLM shots instead of K-1. Close your eyes if you don't like to see them.
