Thank you. The amount of masonry in the park is amazing. Retaining walls, picnic tables. several bridges for both hikers and automobiles. Houses for park personnel, the small museum and even the rest rooms. Some of the hiking trails will take you into picnic areas that are overgrown and rarely used yet the faithful stone tables still stand guard waiting for guests. The table in the photograph can probably seat 20 people.

FYI: Most of the stonework in Letchworth was done by the CCC one of FDR's projects to distribute money to the general population by employing young men to do public work. Many parks in the USA benefited almost incalculably from that program.

The Castle Remains

I had the pleasure today of spending a morning in the company of Mr & Mrs Clackers, Castle Urquhart and wee bite of lunch, all on a fine dry Summers day... not.

P.S. Note to rod_grant... if you don't get over here soon to repair your ancestral seat... there wont be much left.

When spot focus really works with the small cross type AF points, it is a beautiful thing... this FA77 thing is growing on me too.

Nice, looks slightly underexposed, I don't know if that was intentional or not.
Technically, it is underexposed, because the light from the lighthouse was so much brighter than the surrounding scene. It can be difficult how much to compensate for that in post, especially for a shot taken almost half an hour before sunrise.

Here's a shot from the same mornings, Sixes River in Cape Blanco SP:

Few photos of a sunset without clouds are as pretty as that one. Love the transition of colors in the sky & again the shaded area to the gentle sun lit foreground. A very nice capture, well done...I enjoyed admiring that scene for several minutes. And you being a cloud man so to speak, very nice indeed.
Best Regards, Bob
Thanks Bob!

Those are two great pictures. I really, really like that first shot. Great leading lines everywhere. You, sir, are the photographer I can only dream of being.

Really... I can't say I noticed any of them, perhaps too preoccupied.

Lovely image.

Now did you perhaps spot my wee pet while you were there? She likes to do a bit of swimming.

Haven't posted a scenic from Utah on this thread for quite a while, mostly because I've used all the good ones. This one, not previously processed, is pretty good.
