I like that photo a lot. The second shot has such great definition and is most likely the kind of photo I would take, but it certainly does not talk to me like the first photo. Amazing how a difference in focus can make a scene & subject so much more pleasing to the eye of the beholder. Sorta like portrait effect applied to outdoor subjects.

Thanks Bobby, me too, I like the way the FA77 can isolate the subject, while still making the background interesting, yet not distracting. Heck, at F2.2 or wider, you could have soda cans, cig butts and candy wrappers all over the background and just melt them away, though it makes me crazy that we have to do that sometimes.
Hope your farm projects will be done soon (I know, they NEVER are really done, but, at least done enough to take a break) and you can relax for some pics before the snows bury all your hard work.
