K-1 (1) and Sigma 50-500mm DG OS HSM.

Have to say whereas the 150-450mm seems to perform better on the K-3II this Sigma is turning out to be a great match for the K-1.

Thanks for sharing that perspective Mike. Just curious, have you double checked fine focus adjustment of the DFA 150-450mm on the K-1 ? And did you do it at 450mm, with a target of around 23ft away? I was really freaking out a little about mine and all the money I had spent on it until I did the adjustment with the recommendations like I mention above for the long focal length, I ended up with +8 on mine, and then it became a whole different lens.

Wife and I just got back from a 5 day trip going down the coast. Don't many good sunset opportunities where we live, so enjoyed everyone we could.

Hi Eric,

Don't get me wrong, the 150-450mm is still excellent on the K-1 (yes I have done focus adjustment on both bodies) but I find the Sigma just as sharp on full frame plus it has the extra focal length from 50-150 and 450-500mm and it focuses a lot closer. I don't think the Sigma is as quick to focus (no limiter) but if I'm going out to shoot fast moving subjects I tend to take the K-3II anyway.

Frederic, I gave you a like for that set namely for the third shot, the semi bridge along the cliff. Interesting structure & nice capture and cute little Topaz star.

Best Regards, Bob
Thank you Bob !

Today I dug an old "classic" lens out of the closet an stuck it on my K1-II and went to a local park. A Tamron SP 70-210 F3.5 lens. I haven't used it on about 3 years. It was pretty much my normal lens on my film cameras when I got it new in the olden days, Contrast is a bit low, but easily corrected in post processing. The old gal still seems to have some life left in her yet. Not up to modern standards, but still pretty good.

This looks like a postcard to me... like a place you would want to share with your friends that you had been there, and had seen that sky.
Very nice.

It's rare that I just have to stop and take a photo, this was one of those occasions) There was an even better opportunity a week after, but sadly I didn't bring my camera with me

Wandering around Bury St Edmunds last Friday, waiting while #2 son took his driving test (he passed!). No idea what this guy was up to in the graveyard - writing or drawing something...
