K-1 with triple adapter!

Trying out a new 6x6 medium-format lens: Arsat 250mm f 5.6 B. This lens came to me in Keiv 88 mount, so I added an adapter to mount it on to Pentacon 6, then another adapter to mount it on Pentax 645, then a third adapter to use it with K mount. This is a very credible lens, quite sharp with luminous highlights. It is prone to flaring, however, and has a ong MFD. It is well built, and focusses in the same direction as Pentax. With the adapters I am using, the aperture and distance scales do not align on top but rather are to the right just a little short of 180 degrees from the top. It comes NIB with hood, top and bottom caps, and carrying case, including operating instructions (in the Ukraine language).

Sunset over Niagara, ON. From my trip to Niagara Falls few weeks ago. Was shooting the waterfall, then looked over my shoulder and saw this sky, immediately turned my rig around and tried to capture it
With DFA 15-30, Nisi S5, CPL. 3 exposures stacked in Aurora HDR.

great shot! I also have that old 50 f/1.2 and absolutely love the character and effects from it. Some days I have trouble nailing focus with it and then other days I nail every shot! (The lens has a mind of its own!)

Rochester Junction in Mendon, NY. A one time stop on the Lehigh Valley Rail Road. 72 years ago my 25 year old father stepped off a train here to come home to his wife of 6 months as his 6 year stint in the Navy was over. He enlisted in March of 1941 intending to get training as a photographer. He wound up as a gun captain on a 16" gun on the USS Washington. A brand new battleship that was just then getting fitted out. His battle station was literally a meter away from the breech of the gun. Every time it was fired 660 pounds (300 kg) of powder ignited right next to where he was stationed. When he left the Navy he had a new wife and his total possessions were whatever was in his sea bag. Because my dad had 4 months of terminal leave built up he was home 4 months early.

The station was used until 1950 and the original building burned in 1973. Now it is a station on a hiking and biking trail that follows the old railway bed. Even some life finding a way on the old rail road cars.
