Finally captured one of these little guys... a lot smaller than I expected. Like an elongated bumble bee, but no where near as big as a large dragonfly or butterfly. Wish I had the DA*300 that day, or the D FA150-450... but the Tamron did ok I guess, with the help of some cropping, etc.

I've gone nuts chasing those guys around a buddleia. I think the third image is most satisfactory because of the background around the moth = plain, not distracting.

Congrats on the captures Mr. Tatorman. You did a fine job with that Tamy, look forward to more shots. Have about 15 inches of snow here now so doubt I will see any of those cute little buggers for some time. Really glad that you finally spotted them. Hope to get out tomorrow to do some capturing of the white stuff.
