There is something about 50s that makes them accumulate. In addition to the DA*55 and the DFA 50 I also still have the M 50 1.7, the 50 macro and the FA 50 1.4. I will never let the M 50 go since that came with my first SLR, the MX, and it recorded my children's lives as they grew from birth to marriage and much more. Sentiment rules all

You may have an intentional special way of developing your raws, involving a great deal of saturation and added slight orange cast, or the monitor you use for tweaking your raws isn't calibrated or low contrast one. I hope the saturation/contrast and color cast are intentional (if you are sure that what you see is SRGB compliant). It's just my feedback , because every time I see your photos, I find the compositions nice but always get repelled with the color punch especially the slight orange cast, which doesn't happen with the other photos posted in the same thread. Maybe you or others can tell

Well did not ment to be in choier of DA*55, but I save for 85, so will settle for DA*55. It is little slow(I tried it with my daughter today(she is 9 almost 10 months)), and she can move quite a bit, but also my set up lights were in challenge. But I did get some okayish ones. Tomorrow I try again with mom, who will keep her in almost close where I want her to be for picture.

and something else too

Hattifnattar those are outstanding photos, and you shot them @ 2.8. Incredible sharp detail and such great subjects with the youngsters providing such candid scenes. What was your distance from them?
Best Regards, Bob

K1 with Pentax 150-450mm lens. No cropping has been done. I used CPL so that color come saturated. I tried with both K3 and K1, and settled with K1. I felt AF is better in K1. I am new to bird photography. These pics are taken on 3rd day as bird photographer.

Place is Magadi Lake, Karnataka, India.

Thank you! Probably a few meters, there was very little cropping or not at all in most cases. Credit for sharpness goes to FA 77, I enjoy this lens a lot for street shots. In cases such as this I like to use Tav mode, set a decent shutter speed to freeze the subject, aperture f/2-f/3.5 and let the camera pick the ISO.

My monitor is calibrated. I suppose you are talking about the third photo. The light was like this when I took the photo.
