You're probably closer to both the Moon and Mars than I as your elevation is higher. As for me, I love Mars, but I hate planets.
250 meters is not, as one would say, a height

Wow, we need more posts like these. I also have a DFA28-105, and I was often disappointed by the results, but I don't think the problem was the lens, I think the problem is me.

You are so right...but my mom was an imported Italian, she used to make dandelion wine from the flowers and also cooked the bitter greens for a side dish at dinner. Nothing went to waste in those days. We missed a bottle that we found "well aged" in the cellar for who knows how many years, cracked it open and it was like white lightning... smooth, but I'd swear it was stronger than good cognac... seemed like way more than 60 proof, at least it kicked like a mule. Great memories.

That's more than double the altitude at our house (103.6 meters). So you are definitely closer to Mars, depending on the time of day.

Nature provided me a natural vignette, I was just surprised the AF center point was able to lock through all that... this is a pretty tight crop.

Thanks. It's the DFA 28-105 that convinced me to get a K-1. I'm not aware of a better FF lens for landscapes at its size and price-point.

One more from Bryce Canyon:

Very nice shot.

Yes, I agree, the 28-105 is excellent. My copy is a little soft on the edges at 28mm, but exceptional at 105mm. Fortunately I have the Pentax 15-30 f/2.8 to cover that focal length.
