150-450 Euphoria

Had this lens several weeks now and have been shooting with it exclusively to get acquainted. Boy, do I love this lens! I just traded in my D750 and 200-400 f/4 for a KP (with grip), a couple more lenses, two speed lights, and accessories.

Went to my most recent favorite spot last evening and came away with these two shots. While processing the first one I noticed a large bird of prey on the nearest hill. Turned out to be an Osprey. Thanks to the K1's GPS, and Lightroom"s "Map" tab, I was easily able to determine the bird was .99 mile/1.59 km away from the camera. The 100% crop shows the detail possible from this lens. PS was used. It's amazing to me. FYI the first and last shots were taken 11 minutes apart.

That is a very nice wine place Frederic, I love the last photo. Interesting that you used the word artificial. Sometimes I make wine with the juice straight off my press and I refer to it as not true wine; and sometimes I start the wine from a must consisting of the chopped up or crushed grapes or fruit, this I call true wine. Two of my current batches were made the old fashion must way, it will be at least a year before they are finished. Here is one for you to have fun with, my maple wine is made from maple syrup...guess that falls under artificial......crazy Anglo-Saxon...

Best Regards, Bob

Those are super cool compositions, the kind that play games with the vision. Very nice work.

That shot deserves more than just a like, I think it is awesome. And you & Hattifnatt are making me lust for that FA77 lens.

Thanks Bob, it was voted here a couple of years ago The Greatest Pentax Lens with reason.

I'm sure the new DFA* 85 will murder it optically, but perhaps the 77 will still get your hard-earned dollars because of what it does for its size.

I did my first paid events gig on Saturday night, a fiftieth birthday party, and I used the big Sigma 85mm for the tele shots, and looking at the files afterwards am not convinced that the FA77 couldn't have done just about all them.

The K-1 was wonderful on the evening, BTW, including high ISO for some pics and using flash for others, indoors and out.

Really like your work lately Bruce, but it is really hard to like that Jacaranda tree shot... they absolutely kill my allergies. (at least our local variety of the pernicious purple plant does)
That aside, nice group.

Haha, thanks, and ditto, you wield the 77 with ferocity!
