Trees at sunset with FA 77. I think this is a situation where the FA 77 is not that great.

It is not what you first ***think...

smc PENTAX-FA 77mm F1.8 Limited ƒ/2.5 77.0 mm 1/800 iso200
***This is the inside of a fallen palm branch, and it struck me to try and capture its similarity to a red canyon rock passage because the similarity struck me.
Not sure if it worked or not. You tell me.

K-1 and DFA 28-105

From our Dec 25 walk, before the big meal... ( you know, the one your wife wants to cook because it's "traditional" and then complains about how much work it was after.)seems like those thing should have happened in the reverse order.
This walk was on an abandoned farm property that includes lake front footage. The property is now owned by an American who is rarely there, and is used by others for dog walks although we usually have it to ourselves.

Every image was almost 2 stops under, ( I forget to do the "2 stops over when shooting in snow: thing,) but with the K-1's dynamic range it made no difference at this size.

For some reason, that second shot is the real winner for me on this set Frederic, you really work that FA35 well! Love the colors, comp, all of it.

Havent had a chance to shoot much lately, so here are a few with K1 and either samyang 35mm or samyang 20mm, nothing fancy, just needed to get out and shoot

Yes. I can definitely see the similarity to Antelope Canyon and similar red-rock country formations.

Pentax D FA 28-105 is an amazing landscape lens. Btw, great colors and great photo.
Thanks. I agree about the DFA 28-105. It's the lens that sold me on the K-1.

Another Bryce Canyon shot with the DFA 28-105:

Thanks WPRESTO ! I was hoping with your background and all the posts of Utah that you would be one the people to comment. I wish I had more time to really nail it, but it was on the ground where the lighting was only perfect for a few minutes, and I was on my knees using LV with the flippy screen. I was tempted to pick up the thing and put it onto something easier to work from but was afraid of messing up the light. After the moment passed, it just looked like a dead lifeless piece of wood again. I've got a couple more I took that give away what it really is, maybe I'll post them later.
