You make them look very good, bringing all the expectation arising from prior actual dinners to the view.

Who's paying for that?
Given the state of religions this side of the pond, such a monumental (literally) expenditure of resources would seem un-sustainable.

Future visitors and believers will pay back, like it is at the Vatican in Rome, although you may be looking at a century of pay back time depending on where it is built and how much marketing is done to attract visitors. I've been at the Vatican, took a lot of photos with my Pentax K3 of the time, and there I realized how much money must be flowing there every single day of the year, it's huge, but of course they must also pay for expenses (paying staff, marketing, and keeping monuments from falling apart etc..).

So far the bill is about 150 million euros and it's not even finished yet. About 80% of those are public money (government, city hall) and 20% from the BOR (Romanian Orthodox Church). Totally unnecessary building right now in my opinion given the current state of economy, I could think of one thousand better things to do with those money. But the government will still pay for it to ensure church support for the upcoming elections. The relationship between this government and the church is not a healthy one... for quite some time.

I just opened wikipedia and compared this cathedral with Alexander Nevsky in Sofia (which I visited couple of times) just to have some reference dimensions. And man, its really really huge
