A couple of shots using the K1 and the Bigma. This one was just before sunset yesterday and is cropped Full Frame mode.

Tonight I got this shot in crop mode and cropped further.
With Sigma APO 500mm f/4.5 the old manual focus lens that I could afford.

Once again, of all lenses, the 150-450mm pinch hits as my bug lens of choice.
I don't know why I find that so comical, but it just works, and has decent magnification and close enough focusing for me, even if I have to do a little cropping. The focus range limiter is also a beautiful thing... I sure do WISH my DFA100WR had a limiter, it might actually focus a bit faster with one!

Probably too many common monarchs... but here they are anyway.

It appears that gaweidert took a picture of wtlwdwgn taking a picture of the Lamar Valley in Yellowstone. We met up with Steve for a few hours today. Steve drove over form Billings for a joint photo outing. Thanks for coming Steve. It was good to see you again.
IT was great spending time with you and the missus George. I wish I could have spent more time there. Rained like heck all the way home.

Here's the image I was taking at the time.

It was a warm day, but it is amazing how good Raw Therapee is at fixing the movement in the cattle (which there was some between frames).

Well, we did get to see a moose today. Eating side by side with an antelope. Then this self important thing decided that she would walk up to them so she could get a shot. She thereby ruined the scene for a lot of other people. It wouldn't leave either. Must have taken hundreds of shots with her little point and shoot camera. She is actually breaking the law by getting too close to the animals. i was hoping for some moose on human action shots but no such luck. The tourons (tourist + moron = touron) seem to be out early this year and in record numbers too.

Been out at Yellowstone the past four days with Mrs gaweidert. Been a great trip. I know that these are cliche shots but dang the place just begs to be photographed. The first shot is the Upper Falls. The crane is there as they are rebuilding the walkways down to it. The second shot is the Lower Fall. It never fails to impress, no matter how many times you see it.

Wow, that second photo speaks many more words than I could list here. That is such an awesome shot, really glad you took it and posted it.

The object in the foreground is an dormant hot spring formation called the Liberty Cap. It is part of Mammoth Hot Springs at Yellowstone National Park. Interestingly enough it seems to be sporting a face now. I guess I caught the light just right to bring it out as I did not see it until I looked at the image later. I guess this is breaking news posted first here on Pentax Forums. I do not Facebook or Twitter etc so I guess that this will just be our little secret.

Vertical stitched image shot with my D FA 150-450 lens. The Lower fall of the Yellowstone River. It needs a little more work, but just thought I would give it a go before heading out for the day.
