The rain stopped and the sun came out so I put the 100mm Rokinon macro on my K1-II and walked around the yard a bit.

Thanks very much! I use the focus range limiter on the lens for close work like this, then use Sel 9, and link exposure to AF, and usually have -3 or -7 exposure compensation dialed in, depending on the time of day, if sun is harsh, etc. Many times I use TAv and just let auto ISO roam. When working at minimal focus distance, you have to make sure you step back a little, so you are not too close to focus and give the camera a little focus range to work with.

All of these are cropped, but there is plenty of detail to work with. I don't think you will be disappointing with this lens. I am also waiting for the opportunity to present itself to pick up a 24MP APSC body like the KP or the new, yet to be announced APSC flagship depending on sensor & price, to use with this lens, because I know it will be awesome, and more efficient use of pixels on cropped area.

Thanks for quick reply. I'm not sure I understand what you mean by Sel 9...Do you use continious Focus, single Focus, and do you let the camera decide focuspoint? IOO

No problem. Scroll to through this page, read it all, but your answer is near the bottom for using Select 9 with or without CAF. (selecting the 9 central AF points)

https://www.pentaxforums.com/reviews/pentax-k-1-review/recommended-settings.html

The 4 way switch I use to move the 9 point group around for composition.
I don't use CAF very often unless I am in an uncluttered area. If there are a lot of leaves or twigs sticking out I stay away from CAF because it gets distracted in a cluttered area, so I use single focus and or focus lock and recompose, or whatever strikes me as useful at the moment.
