Wild iris and a banger of a sunset in a flooded field is not a bad combo.

Chamois

Met this little fella on early Sunday morning at Low Tatras mountain range (I did a 2-day hike).
He was not shy. When spotted me, he ran towards me, to check who or what I am.

Pentax K-1 + SMC A 70-210/4
The 35 year old lens is nice, but I am searching for something better and longer - sharper at 200+ mm and with AF. Not 2.4kg 150-450 though, only if it comes with its own sherpa :-)

Drove up to the Skyline Drive over the weekend. It was rainy, but the views are still amazing...

A Chokeberry bush I planted last year to attract warblers. It looks like I'll get fruit this year, and who knows, maybe even warblers.

Following the progress of this unknown shrub....

Pentax K-1 Milky Way Shots

Hello all,

Here is a series of nightscapes from the other night out camping. All with Rokinon/Samyang/Bower branded lenses

Bower 24mm f1.4, 13 seconds, 800 ISO

Rokinon 14mm f2.8, 20 seconds, 3200 ISO

It's interesting to me to compare those two lenses and the field of view/exposure differences.

Also, a first for me, astrotracer! I finally got it working after several minutes of fiddling around. Long story, but I was about to curse Pentax's name until I remembered it was my fault for never actually looking up how to do it xD

I was able to get usable images at a minute or even a minute and a half, but I found the absolute cleanest was 30 seconds. Still, amazing for a 135mm focal length! For someone who has taken nightscapes for a while, it was like magic seeing it work.

Samyang 135mm f2, 30 seconds, 1600 ISO, Astrotracer

Doing astro exposures in the middle of the road is risky.
