Still testing the limits of the DA*11-18 in FF mode.

To get a long time exposure at FF 18mm on a very bright day in the alpes I use a Haida 10-stop filter (82mm), a step-up ring 82-86mm and a 86mm B+W PLC filter.

At ISO100 and f/11 I got 20s. Shot w/o hood.

Very strong vignetting, no recovery possible. So I crop roughly to the angle of view of a 20mm lens - dimensions 6624 x 4416 px.

I always thought the SMC version of the DA 10-17 produced beautiful colors, but the it looks like the HD version takes up a notch. Gorgeous images.

This that new 10-17? That somewhat works on the K-1? The last shot, did it start off like the others with the circle vignette thing and then you straightened it out? Or was it in crop mode etc?

K-1 + HD DA 20-40 (FF mode)

It does not vingette in FF mode between 17-14 mm. Then dark corners begins to show untill 10 mm it is almost round but there will be 180 degree fov. It will work with 1:1crop untill 12 mm before dark corners. I haven’t straightened shot. (edit) 14 mm it looks like that

Thanks! Yes, there are great colors and while there is some purplefring, it is not bad at all. I’m happy. It is special lens for sure but fun
