By popular demand (See Bobby, you are popular!) Meet Dolce'. She is a pure bred Yorkshire Terrier, but she has the throwback gene for Parti coloring (meaning she will be a tri color Yorkie). Yorkies are normally just black & tan. She was from a litter of 1, from an older pair of privately owned Yorkies locally. Litters of 1 don't always make it through to live birthing and are often still born, but Dolce' is a fighter. Her mom was 4lbs, and dad was 3.7lbs. She is on target to be about 4lbs.

She is, as my wife would say "a hot mess" in these pic's and is going to get her first grooming soon. The dark color tips of her hair makes it looks like she's been rolling in the mud or has a bad dye job, but it is just the dark color growing out. We've been playing at brushing her daily to get her used to it, so the groomers have an easier time of it.

You can see her roots are very light, and she has pure white on her chin and feet, and around her face. I have no idea what her final coat will look like, but have a feeling she will be mostly tan & white once she gets a hair cut, with a maybe a very few black spots remaining. She gets her final round of shots next week, she is 13 weeks old as of these pic's. They say their hair color will finalize around 6 months old.

Eric, fantastic photos of Dolce. I love the second one, but they are all great.

Big Boy Tour Stop In Yuma, AZ

Here are a few shots of the largest steam engine (and one of the last built) in the US coming through my home town, Yuma, AZ. It's currently on a tour celebrating the 150th year of the completion of the trans-continental railroad. The Colorado River bridge it crossed coming into town was built in 1923 and still carries about 50 trains a day. The train was not supposed to be on display in Yuma, but last minute arrangements were made.

Wow, great shots with important historical interest/value. Hope X4014 steams on up to southern OH! I see you used the DFA*50, which I also have, for some of your train images-thx for inspiring me to get out & shoot with it today.

Cute puppy portraits! The 77 sure is a nice portrait lens.

Thanks Mike, she has been fun, smart as a whip and is house training fast. The 77 is fast becoming my go-to lens for portraits, though the 31 is no slouch either if I need the WA for interior spaces... But for a tiny puppy, the FL on the 77 is perfect and give more working room not to get nose prints on the glass. LOL!

Thanks Bobby!
Dolce is just what the doctor ordered... we still miss Ariel at times, and worse in some ways because Dolce does remind us of her sometimes, but there is nothing like holding a puppy to make the world seem like a better place again.
