Thanks.

Here's one from Glacier NP, Swiftcurrent Lake shot with the F 17-28 FE:
northcoastgreg, great near-far wide angle shot. How did you minimize the distortion that comes with the FE zoom if the horizon's not in the center?

fs999, colorful shot of the roses. The Sigma Art has a nice bokeh.

repp, nice idea to show the one odd tree among the forest of pines. Even better: crop as a portrait orientation, eliminating most of the sky & water. That would give the birch/aspen greater impact among the pines.

Thanks for your comment. The distortion is actually not minimized, the distortion doesn't draw attention to itself because it doesn't seem so unnatural that the lake should have a curved edge. But if the lake had been photographed with a rectilinear lens, the horizon at the far edge of the lake would be straight, not curved.

More from the shore

As the GBH fly's

HD PENTAX-D FA 150-450mm F4.5-5.6ED DC AW ƒ/8.0 450.0 mm 1/2000 iso400

This was a surprising sound, I don't usually hear them call in flight

Is that Kinzua Lake? Or Lake Perfidy as the Seneca call it?

Like the first best although both are very nice. The DFA 150-450 is too big & heavy for me. I was out trying to catch big birds in flight early yesterday morn (b4 sunrise) with my light, compact FA*400. The eagle never showed but the GBH is always there at the lake. No.3447 not as sharp as I'd like & ISO 8000 a little noisy, but I like the composition & mood. No.3444 is sharp, but don't like the composition as much.

Very nice rendering of a red rose. The soft red goes nicely with the muted background.

The elk herd reminds me of the heard in the Cataloochie valley of Great Smokey Mountains NP. Had a good time shooting that herd a couple of years ago.

Nice fall scenes, Jaboby. Like the middle one best.

What an unusual fountain. Did you shoot a portrait version to emphasize the vertical post?

---------- Post added 10-20-19 at 10:36 AM ----------

Very nice fall shot of a road in the woods. Like the second one best. The branch in the upper left and the tree on the right frame the scene nicely.

---------- Post added 10-20-19 at 10:40 AM ----------

Line the birch #1. That one would be fun to develop in Silver efex pro to add detail & structure to the gray sky.

Like the sunset, Rondec. Taking the risk of second guessing your composition, a crop of the left treeline and half the road would put the sun in the lower right hand corner, which IMHO would be a stronger composition.
Thank you, I was lucky to spot that second scene. That second shot you took of the GBH is spectacular.
Best Regards, Bob

Thank you Frederic, I hope to capture some bright colours in the next couple of days.
