True, but it took 1/3 of their reservation and most of their farmland. Covers some burial grounds too. I understand their name for the lake. Reservations are supposed to be sovereign territory. I question the legality of it myself.

My ancestors settled in what is now Elk County PA near Wilcox in the mid to late 1840's. Came over from Germany and Belgium to escape the political unrest of the times My great grandfather was the first county manage of Elk County. There is a small Catholic Church in Rasselas that they donated the land for and their names are on some of the stained glass windows. I haven't visited it yet. I used to camp at Allegheny State Park in NY quite a bit in my younger days.
Regarding the reservation I totally agree with you, but I don't really want to get in to that.
Elk County is where I live, very near to Wilcox and Rasselas. Fact is I have good friends living in both areas. And I have made a visit to that Catholic Church. In the near future I will go there to take photos, including the beautiful stained glass windows. Expect to see the shots posted within a week. Also wanted to tell you that I hope to make a trip to Letchworth soon, I really love that place.
Best Regards, Bob

I don't have the FA43mm yet, but do have the 31mm and 77mm... it's only a matter of time if I keep seeing shots like these. They say it is a huge step up in IQ from my old FA50mm, which I always found to be very good... it is always something isn't it?
Thanks for feeding my addiction and congrats on the new lens.
Eric
Thanks for the kind words. Haven't shot the FA 50, imagine it leans to a more modern, technically accurate, rendition. The 43 has a lot of character and exerts a fair amount of artistic license. You are correct, there is always something to buy. You'll get a 43. Hope it's soon. So far the 43 is working well for me.

Always enjoyed the 40mm focal length since owning a Leica CL film camera and its 40mm lens. The other CL lens was a 90. The 77 Limited is a little shy of that focal length, but serves me well.
Thanks,
barondla

You're welcome, Aaron. I know you didn't ask for suggestions, but I've done a lot of shooting (photos, obviously, I hope) in dance halls with overhead fluoros, so I know how variable and distracting the lighting can be.

Let me know if you want to meet up at Letchworth. The new railroad bridge is a sight to behold.

I have ancestors buried in the cemetery across the street from that church.

The Leica/Minolta CL was always a favorite! I think the expression about lens trinity's actually started with the CL and the 23, then the 2 lenses it came with, the 40 and 90 on that little jewel!

This is a almost 70 megapixel panorama of a banner day at Mt. Rainier National Park. This was after a hike up to the mountain that is to the right of the image, Burroughs Mountain
