Very nice composition-would have never guessed it was taken with an ultra-wide lens.

Mrs. Racer 2.0 and I were out running errands today, and stopped at the Conway Pub and Eatery for a burger, fries and a beer. As we were leaving I shot an 8 image panorama with my K-1 and A28 f2.8.

The Conway Pub has been open since 1932, in the basement of the Masonic Temple in Conway, Washington. Always a great place for a beer and a bite to eat, and on weekends they have live music.

Oh, and it is a popular stop during the Oyster Run.

This panorama has an interesting perspective. Did you do something special or is that just how the shots came together? I love places like that and this photo seems to capture that atmosphere.

Thanks for the compliment.

I shot this with the A28, and it is 8 images stitched together. The tiff file is over 2 gigabytes.

As I was standing at the curb, very close to the building, in only the two bottom shots was the camera level. In each higher pair of photos the camera angle points more upwards.

This really distorted the perspective of the building, which is three stories tall. The final stitched image was quite distorted, particularly towards the top and sides. I managed to stretch and warp it back into something more “normal” looking, but had to clone in some of the building to the right, and I copied some of the clouds from the left to the right in the sky.

Notice how the pub sign looks long and stretched. After getting the building looking better there wasn’t much that could be done to the sign without undoing the work on the pub.
