I waited on the blue tongue of two different captive skinks, and one that was active did flick it out from time to time, sometimes when it's face was at least half hidden by a rock or other landscape bit in its container, but mostly it went in-out impossibly fast. I'd have to keep the camera on high-speed continuous shooting to capture it. I've caught the tongue flip of a Komodo dragon a couple of times, ditto for several snakes, but the blue-tongue skink was
i-m-p-o-s-i-b-l-e. No way I could have reflexes quick enough to capture it with a camera as it emerged.
