Simply amazing, I wished I had taken these, especially that last shot of the lions, until I saw you used the 24-70mm then had second thoughts about wishing I was that close!... man, how close was that hide and was it made of steel?!!!

Hi Eric
Very special place and pretty intimidating, you are shooting lions elephant and buffalo
at about 4 metres. Shooting from behind a special one way photographic glass but still intimidating.
More info about the hides here Hides | Zimanga Game Reserve

Best photographic experience I ever had.

Interesting info in the link. I knew that the cape Buffalo was one of the "Big Five" but did not know about the solitary males and their nickname. Great series also!

Great African wildlife shots and @ 24-60mm! Guess the private game reserves are worth the extra money. Is Zimanga near Kruger?

Ooh, I like! I think there's a lot of b&w potential in these.
Nice shot of Moab red rock country. I presume the butte in the background is tilted upward by the 15mm focal length?

Thanks for the info! We drove down that stretch of the N2 a couple of weeks ago. Maybe next time...

Not quite the drama of Philip's exquisite shots, but here are some "look at the photographer" images with the DA55-300. The last one was shot from a vehicle.
