Noel, were you tempted to get your lens brush out and remove those distracting dust specs and bits of grass?? Otherwise a great photo!
I think a brush that fitted ones mono pod could have a place in snake photography.

Gorgeous photo! The pattern of the scales is exquisite.
Thanks... turned out better then I'd thought it would.

Exceptional composition. A wall hanger, in my estimation.

Sad situation in Australia for sure. Hope things get better soon.
Thankyou!

Well done, great use of perspective. I've always found the 20MM focal length to be difficult to use compositionally. You've nailed it in the color image!
Thanks, yes, composing is tricky with these wide angles. It's all too easy to make a picture of a whole lot of nothing. I think the key for wide shots is to have a foreground. In my first shot above I tried to make use of dramatic lighting, but the lack of a good foreground makes it an "almost" shot. The second one does have a foreground that leads into the image and I think it works much better.

Indeed it does. The steps lead me up into the image and then the walls stair-step down and my eye settles on the interior archway. Images of narrow corridors fail IMO if there's nothing for the eye to focus on, it just goes right out the other end!

Love following these everybody! I'm still working my way page by page...maybe I'm crazy. I'm on page 398 of this thread. I picked up a used K1 Mark II a couple weeks ago and my DFA * 70-200 just came in last night. Sure enjoy this thread. Thanks to everyone who still contributes!

Regardless, a beautiful subject... and I'm not one to comment on attractiveness of people in photographs, usually.

A quick one taken this morning with my new toy plus an old lens. It is now, as the name suggests, super-wide! Processed with Luminar Flex.
K-1 + Sigma Super-Wide II 24mm f/2.8.
