Yes, the FA 77 is a sufficient enough lens. Won't break your bank or your back. Yes, no need for the new 85. Yeah... that's what I'm gonna go with.

Defeated again. Another win for the squirrels. If you have seen my earlier posts about squirrels breaking into my "squirrel proof" bird feeder you will know that after caving in the plexiglass window I bolted it in place and added a 1/4" (6mm) wire mesh to protect the window. It seems my victory dance was premature.

The perch on the feeder drops if the weight on it is too great. This closes the access slots to the seed. Well this little critter has found a way to defeat my up armored feeder. In photo 1 the squirrel is sitting on the perch and it is clearly in the down position. In photo two the critter is hanging on the mesh with his right legs while using his left rear leg to pull the perch up thus allowing access to the promised land. So far squirrels 2 human ingenuity 0. Back to the drawing boards.

I've 2 frens switched to Sony/Nikon cam system for faster fps while I'm still using Pentax (started with K-x) to shoot birds, this 2 frens started much earlier than me during Pentax film era...

While returning to our hotel after a visit to the Great Smoky Mountains we came up on traffic stopped in the middle of the highway. A closer look showed the reason:

I even had time to change lenses.
