Some more from my recent trip to the Flinders Ranges

A SMC K50/1.2 image.... really enjoyed 50mm on this trip... thinking of getting a DFA 50/1.4... but feel I'll then not use my 50/1.2

A couple from last night. I stopped by the river park for sunset and then headed into the hills for the comet.
I was trying to align some of my favorite rocks and trees with the comet but nothing was working and wow it was dark last night.
I was on top of a rock outcropping that is maybe 50' high and I dropped my 70-200 hood (thankfully just the hood!) and it went bouncing off into the darkness. I could not find it last night but had better luck when I returned this morning before work. Whew!

Finally got some clear skies, and was able to try out the astrotracer function with the DFA 24-70, and Tamron 70-200. Unfortunately, the skies are bright and I have no idea how to edit haha

I have been blown away by these images that are coming out of K1. But I have to ask - is it mostly in my head or are they really so noticeably better than K3-produced images? I am NOT trying to start another pointless debate, it's just that I know that I am easily influenced by my expectations, visually speaking. For example, once I was looking at B&W images from a recent digital Leica with Summicorn 35/2 and they took my breath away. But in my gut I knew I could get same effect with several other body/lens combos. I no longer own any digital Leicas but I do own and love Pentax gear and and am soooooo tempted to get the K1 body and seeing the images in this thread is killing me.. I am not sure I can resists. So, is it just my biased brain or do these images (scaled as they are for online viewing) really do show the objective superiority of K1 for landscape and portraits? Please don't yell at me, I mean every word.

Very nice macro shots. Have you tried the rear converter A 1.4X-L? It really woks well with my K-1 & A*200. I’ve seen several for sale here in the past.

When I shoot side by side the images are usually pretty similar. My guess is 5% to 10% of the images taken with the K-1 are a bit better, but it's not a lot. That being said, I also think the K-1 images are often better, I just haven't been able to prove it.
