From last night's walk. This area has become pretty popular in the summers in the past few years so I love being here in the off season and having it to myself.
It's also getting close to time for the road to close. In a month or so I will only be able to get here via skis.
This distinct rock has some rude names. Here I'll just refer to it as that one rock.

I'm kind of sad to see that tree die. It's been fading for the last five years or so and I think it is finally time to call it. It's probably a hundred or more years old. These junipers grow very slowly and it's a harsh existence here.
It looked better in 2013 but even here the lower branches look like they are dead.
