Nothing like skating on a pond or a lake.

Is that what you use to pick up the Dinnnie Stones or do you just carry them around yourself?

The Green Jay

I've been spending hours and hours in my back yard waiting to get this shot. Green Jay in South Texas, I'm a bit north of his usual range so when I started seeing him I was so thrilled. He never stays more than a few seconds, swoops in from from the woods behind my home, grabs and peanut and off he goes. Today was my lucky day ! Pentax K1-II with 560mm

Nice . . . I have been seeing lots of regular blue jays recently since I began feeding peanuts along with the regular sunflower seed.

New batch from day before this cold snap... Also, a question after the pic's below.

Pentax K-1 HD PENTAX-D FA 150-450mm F4.5-5.6ED DC AW ƒ/8.0 450.0 mm 1/800 iso400

Pentax K-1 HD PENTAX-D FA 150-450mm F4.5-5.6ED DC AW ƒ/8.0 450.0 mm 1/800 iso320

Pentax K-1 HD PENTAX-D FA 150-450mm F4.5-5.6ED DC AW ƒ/7.1 450.0 mm 1/1600 iso320

I've been getting one "black frame" at the start of almost every photo shoot for quite some time. I used to blame my DA*300mm thinking maybe it was some sort of weirdness going on with the lens iris not opening (it was predominantly my go to lens before the 450mm) , but it is doing it with the 150-450mm and other lenses too, so it has to be the K-1 body. Is it some setting, or an impending failure of the K-1? Anyone else had this issue? I just checked the EXIF on the file and it's the same fstop/shutter/iso settings as the next frame on the card, which looks normal and exposed properly, not blacked out.
Thanks!
Eric

No idea what this could be, but I'm sure you're a too fast shooter, like Lucky Luke who shoots faster than his shadow

Congratulations on the fine capture. All that time and work paid off. Didn't know there were Green Jay's. Neat bird.

Wasn't aware that Leica R lenses could be adapter to Pentax K mount. Very interesting.

Lovely images. Almost winter here and it's nice to see green vegetation. On your camera question, are you using electronic shutter or mechanical?

Especially like the flower pictures. The boat shot has a sense of speed that adds drama.
