About 35 years ago, i rescued some glass negatives from a trash bin at Kodak. A co-worker picked them over first and he got some really nice images. Today I finally got around to taking a look to them. I also have 2 boxes of glass negatives of Hammer Dry Plate Company negatives to do yet. I got those about 50 years ago. There are 24 of them in the queue. No idea the stories behind any of these shots or where they were made. Thought I would bring them back to life.

Those are really cool George. It always amazes me how clear and sharp some of those glass plate images are. Hope to see some more.

When good chrysalis go bad...

Pentax K-1 smc PENTAX-D FA MACRO 100mm F2.8 WR ƒ/4.0 100.0 mm 1/100 iso100

If you look close and compare the 2 shots, you can see the larva/maggot? moving around inside the liquified remains. Sorry if you just ate ... but I thought it was interesting enough to share.

A few more old shots. These from a 4 x 5 glass plate camera. The car has New York State plates dated 1924. Some of the negatives are pretty thin but I am learning how to coax the data out of them. The car is a Buick. Not sure of the model year.

Those are all pretty neat!
Some appear to be colonial Africa, like the woman carrying the basket on her head. No GPS data?

The first group of shots were from negatives fished out of a trash bin at Kodak. Different formats and I am not sure who took them. The nest group appears to have been taken by one person. As I got them in an antique shop some 50 years ago they were probably taken somewhere here in western NY. There are 14 negatives in that box. For now I am only trying to get decent shots without doing any restoration. Some of the negatives are pretty thin. The youngest child in any shots I have see so far, would have to be pushing 100 years old.
