Menu items

In various videos I've noticed some menu items that are new.

Certification marks.
Flash sync speed
Change AF point button
LV electronic shutter.

I thought flash sync speed was hardware dependent. Interesting to see what that means.

Electronic shutter is very interesting.

It could be there to give pentax users an option to allow the camera to send a sync signal above the native sync speed, rather than the hot shoe going cold above 1/200th.

Contrast Detection AF shows icons suggesting: face detection & "Peak Off" in Albert Siegel's video.

Although I'm not sure how this compares to the K-3/K-3ii since I'm still using the K-5 original.

Focus peaking is very useful regarding fast lenses. there is talk of the face detection being linked to the metering sensor's shape detection engine.

Do you mean it will support face-detect when using the OVF?

It is certainly a possibility.

Would be tricky to do ... I guess the mettering sensor has enough resolution for this, but the AF points should also cover the whole area with enough density for this to work well.

PDAF sensor arrays on film and Digital slrs have always been kept near the center of the viewfinder.
