Think they will toss any freebies in for us preorder poeple?

Think we will see anything like a battery grip tossed in as a freebie for those of us who preordered or not?

I think the freebies are the price, and the $500 drop in the 70-200 MSRP.

I've never pre-ordered anything actually so I wouldn't know..

I asked b&h if any kits or specials would be offered and they said no.

I guess these are incentives offered towards the end of a product cycle. As it stands, it looks like Ricoh will have a hard time producing enough K-1 units to satisfy demand, so why spend money on freebies if more than enough people are interested anyway?

Freebies might come later on in liue of a price drop, since higher-end products tend to maintain close to the same price until discontinuation.

The reason I asked is because of how they pushed the battery grip pretty hard with the K3 from the beginning. Regardless, I will enjoy it and since I preordered within 50 minutes of it being announced I hope to be one of the first to get it.

In Holland a grip for €100 instead of 250..so that's sorta freebe,but maybe grip is free he said for the 1st ones coming in?? mine is #2 still I month to go

You are lucky, I only got an email stating that as a preorder customer I got 5% discount from the listed price. Not enough for a battery grip, but still very nice.

I pre ordered both the K-5 and the K-3 and all I got was less money in my bank account then those waited, and no free battery grip.

It was pretty exciting to have the K-5 befor others but I also had some sensor spots too. I will be patient and wait I think.
