So, first thing that one does when they go to the store and asks for can I try one of K-1 and 28-105. I'd not hesitate to take my (to be) new K-1 out there, but this is little too much.

Looks cool, but naturally doesn't tell you anything but that water did not destroy the internals within 30 sec. There's a chance that some water got in (because, and that is important, they are not meant to be exposed to a stream of water) and starts damaging the electronics soon, the result of which we would naturally not see in the video.

I don't doubt that Pentax cameras have great sealing, and I have used and abused my K3 on various occasions, but videos like this aren't really a 'test'. They are just a flashy demonstration that mostly works out, but might on occasion actually go wrong.

Golly I wish people wouldn't do that - it is bound to lead to some difficulties down the track, and really proves absolutely nothing about what the camera is like to use or the images it produces.

...and if someone is stupid enough to do it to their camera to show off, and something goes wrong then they blame the camera and Pentax.

These are high end electronics and while a bit of rain water is fine.....doing that is just plain wrong!

Holy crap - what a complete idiot!

Who the hell would purposefully do something like that to their cameras and lenses?!

And just for some stupid internet video, too...

If they paid for the camera, what a most ridiculous way to spend it !
Makes me wonder about "people" sometimes.
On a similar note: a stupid (person) demonstration.

If he had told me that he did not want the camera I would have taken it off his hands.

Low shutter count, excellent+++. Low starting bid. No battery, so I'm unable to test...

I once got a reprimand over on DPR because I told a guy to clean his sensor with a high pressure wand at the car wash...and he did.
How could I know he was an idiot? The worse idiot was the guy over there that gave me the reprimand.

Regards!

There is a difference from an "Accumulation" of dirt, to forcibly putting mud putty/paste on your camera's seals. It's like the dust in one's home. The dust that accumulated does so gradually, and is easy to remove or protect from.

Dust in a home is very different from unloading a dump truck in your living room.
