PENTAX K-1 Lens Lab / PENTAX K-1 ???????? | RICOH IMAGING
Nice little feature on the Japanese K-1 site which will allow owners to submit and view sample images sorted by lens. A quick, and literal for the sake of accuracy, translation of the text (I'm halfway through a degree in Japanese, so I allow myself to consider reading Japanese camera sites as studying) goes something like this:
'We are opening the Pentax K-1 Lens Lab, to allow you to view work created with each lens. We will be publishing photos taken by users with various Pentax lenses mounted on the K-1. You'll be able to check out photographs taken with lenses that you are interested in, paired with the K-1. Please look forward to it.'
It will be interesting to see just how open this feature is, although I fear it may not be. I see DA lenses in the picture, I see the possibility for a big ol' database so we can really see how each lens performs, and now I feel it's up to Ricoh to be brave and not put too much of a restriction on what they're willing to publish.
