Two full-size K-1 image samples show up on Photoble

Two full size K-1 JPEG samples. Enjoy them while they last :

?? - ID:160322000 [PENTAX K-1] - Photoble Uploader

Posted in Japan, but shot in Sweden (?).
Firmware v0.38. Both at 35mm, f8, ISO 100. Sigma 35 f1.4 lens used (according to EXIFTOOL).

18MB just for the JPEGs, so figure about twice what my K-5 is putting out. Jesus, Mary and Joseph, how big must the raw files be? kenspo, are you allowed to tell us?

That's the price we must pay for 7360x4912 pixels ...

And these were shot at base ISO. File size always increases at higher ISO's, so most times the size will be greater.

40-45Mb, at lower ISOs.

That sounds about right and is consistent with RAW file size from competitor products at the same pixel count.

I think I found the "source". they are among the 5 outdoor images on the cyberphoto review (a swedish online retailer) discussed in:

Still firmware 0.x, I assume - why torture yourselves before the FW is set?

So shall we call it 60MB or so tops? Important considerations when buying my next laptop, vis a vis memory space.

You are right.

Someone in Japan simply re-uploaded two of those:
(http://www.cyberphoto.se/bildexempel/k1/IMGP0481.JPG, and http://www.cyberphoto.se/bildexempel/k1/IMGP0491.JPG)
to Photoble.

I should have checked the other thread.

Steve
I have hundreds of K-1 RAWs on my disc right now, but yes they are pre-production. Doubt that will affect the file size, though.

I am not amazed at the resolution on these. An F31 @f8 should not be limiting.
