I want to see Portraits!

I really want to know how this camera will perform with photographing people! Can someone do some sample photos?

I'm sure we'll see plenty once the camera is released

Hi

I was fortunate enough to download the full size raws that DPReview put up before they were required to take them down. Not the most aesthetic of images by any means, but in terms of quality of the files? They were FANTASTIC! Hope I don't get into any trouble for doing this, but here goes anyway... Here's a sample of one of those pics at 100% crop at a saved file of under 2000pixels.

To let you know also, the focus was a tad off on this part. It was actually a little more in focus on the hair on his head. I think you might be able to pick that up from the sharpness of the ear compared to the facial hair. Ooooh. Tons and tons of detail... They (albeit pre production files) are a dream to work with. Beautiful files...

I'm sure there can be plenty I can post when my camera arrives. Portraits are my primary interest.

This is a first look at the K-1 of a german people photographer. He knows the 645Z, but not the smaller Pentax bodies. At the end you can see some results:

He is very happy with the K-1.

Here is a quick portrait done with the venerable FA 80-200mm. Hand-held, and almost wide open. Regards, John
