K-1 USA Shipping Date

For all we know the 28th is the day they load the boxes on the ship in the Philippines. Really nothing has been stated officially except that 28 April is "launch day". Everything else is second hand reports from customer service people who really have no idea.

April 28 is the official "On Sale" date, so I would also guess the 28th is the earliest possible day

I'm from Europe but I saw this morning that Amazon received first batch and it's shipping now.

Where did you see this? Amazon site says "temporarily out of stock" and no one on this forum has reported getting a shipping confirmation. Instead several got emails that their order would be delayed.

I just check it again and now it is "temporarily out of stock".
I could swear that I saw new status earlier this morning (it is still very early now, 7am).
Maybe I was too sleepy and messed something or I was dreaming :-)

No you might be right, I think the computer updated by itself as this is the day had it set to "ship" but the computer also noticed that there is no inventory so it set the listing to shipping, and then out of stock.

Exactly, and this is the first time ever i see this kind of information on ricoh's website.
So, the decision may have been taken late in the process, but responsible sellers should and "have to comply" with.

I placed my pre-order on the Pentax web site before it was possible to do so on B&H or Adorama or anywhere else. I bet I somehow end up getting mine after everyone else.

Well, I originally wasn't even going to order it until August. Then I had a windfall, so I pre-ordered last week. First it said 'early May.' Then it said 'Pending.' Now it says 'On Order.'

If I get it any time before September I'll be happy.

Apparently someone in Asia has received his K-1 before April the 28th...
I would interpret this as a sign that major retailers such as Amazon and B&H may have K-1 in stock already.
