Email from Adorama today (5/2) :

Thank you for your inquiry on the status of your backorder.
Please be advised that we do not have live inventory on where you are from the waiting list.

Unfortunately, the manufacturer is not providing us with an ETA of when to expect this item, in turn, we cannot provide our customers with an ETA.
When an item is out of stock, we try to accommodate the customer as best we can.

They gave me lots of options....wait, get another camera, or cancel.

I am waiting (and debating B&H).....

Live chat was closed by the time I contacted B&H, so I sent an email instead. I got below reply:

I then asked them to cancel my order for K-1, but ship me 15-30 and 28-105 instead of waiting for K-1 and ship altogether.

BTW, it's also out of stock in Hong Kong. K-1 is selling like hotcakes but the supply is very limited. It's still on backorder but I've placed mine today. Hopefully I will get it within this week.

Just spoke with B&H. They are expecting their shipment to arrive this week.

In a Macro sense the tight supply and quotes such as "deeply backordered" are pleasing and good.

On a micro level - Damn and Blast!!

Because they got fed up with K-1 ship date inquiries? Just kidding

I got a Facebook message from Ricoh saying that B&H should be sending out K-1 orders beginning this week.
Not sure what that means, as "this week" can be anything between today and Friday.

Also just heard from Adorama that the K1 is on the way to the warehouse.... Could be available as soon as tomorrow.....

Mine was places about 50 minutes after it was announced.

Glad to hear things are moving on the B&H/Adorama front. I hope you folks have your cameras soon!

I wish I'd pre-ordered through them. Amazon is quiet as a mouse. I'm sure I won't know anything until I get an email saying the camera is on its way. I don't know whether or not it would be better to cancel my pre-order and go with B&H or just stay with it. I only ordered from Amazon because I had a gift card balance. (Order was made on March 13).

I received the same email from B&H that everyone else did so I was curious about the delivery. I asked if the warehouse was closed during Passover and I got just got a response saying that "YES"The warehouse was closed. That explains why the shipment is coming in later this week.
