FWIW, I visited my local camera store guy today and he said his rep told him the shipping date is April 15th.

There's obviously a bit of wiggle room, but the official date the camera is expected to start shipping is 4/25.

I talked with B&H on chat today and they said that they were getting a shipment on the 21st and early preorders like mine will go out with that one.

We pre-ordered and were told April 25. B and H's website now says beginning of May. My guess is that as pre-orders build up, they are pushing back the date of first availability.

It was the 17th right as it was announced. I had to get home first, but I ordered ti less than an hour after announcement.

The following two weeks I will be out of town on work but home on the weekends and sometime during this period the camera will ship. I really hope they don't call on a monday morning telling me that they will ship it to me later that day. If so, I know it will be sitting in the post office from tuesday afternoon, just waiting for me to come home. I will probably have to tell my boss that I have gotten the flu...-card and need to go home immediately. Or I will travel home and back after work, "only" 437,5 miles round trip...

Adorama says "manufacturer will start shipping 15th May". I didn't expect to be getting one till next summer anyway, so I'm ok to wait till then.

Just spoke with B&H....

Delivery will be in early May for a Mid - Feb preorder.... Probably after they reopen from Passover...

Rats! I had to sleep on the decision and didn't order until March 2nd. Guess I won't see mine until August or thereabouts.

I ordered from them March 9th. Chatted with 3 different CSR's and all 3 said, my order should ship beginning of May. When pressed about what it meant, 2 said, 1st week of May.

So you could be fine being a week ahead of me.

Edit: Got a backorder status email notification from BH last night, (that's during Passover)... either you have operations or you don't. Not sure how they operate... if a delivery comes, do they receive or reject?
