Oddly I got an invite to the M3 revealing.

They apparently are not aware I just bought the K-1 and have no funds left for them.

Actually, yeah, I think you're right. I stand corrected.

Where I live a Tesla is the must-have right now. A Cayenne Turbo is so 2013. All the pricey condo towers have added high speed charging stations. Even my office building garage has added them.

I won't have any trouble keeping my K-1 batteries topped up.

How high-speed is high-speed?

Electric won't be truly competitive on a practical basis until that fill takes five minutes or less from nearly-drained. Then the issues of cost and battery life must be solved. And until that happens, you will have to pry my MX and my Spotties from my cold, dead hands...

You will, as soon as the electric network will start breaking down - being overused by those Teslas

Not so much here, this is pickup country But on the west side of town they are little more popular. They have a Tesla store in the mall there and I dropped my card into the fishbowl for a "drive a Tesla for a day" drawing. Off course once they did the credit check I did not get picked
And yes, charging stations are popping up all over. Even from where I live using electric would not be a problem for routine back and forth to work/groceries/shopping.

I think Telsa claims 20 minutes with their high speed charger. Not sure if that is to full or some percentage though. They are putting the chargers at restaurants and grocery stores and hotels, places where 20 minutes is not a big problem. The on board computer has a nice app that locates chargers and gives directions as well as distance.

I was bored while my wife shopped at the mall Got the whole lecture three times. Very cute girl doing the lecture by the way, and she really, really knows all about Tesla

Oh, and they are using Tesla's as Taxis now, saw several of them the last time I went to the airport. Which sounds weird at first but since there is virtually no maintenance it just might pencil out despite the high initial cost.

I don't have my arms around the idea that I can brick my car if it isn't fully charged when i update the Firmware.

On a Lada, sometimes not much.

It updates only while it's charging.

Yes, if they can prescribe mood altering drugs .

we just need the K-1 to start shipping so the forum can come alive with "My K-1 is worse than my K-x" or "What's wrong with my K-1" threads.

we've lost our sense of impending pentax doom

I have not seen a Doooomed thread in quite a while, what an amazing transformation this place has had. From Dooomed to optimistic almost over night.......................

Good used K-1's will soon be available from the PiD crowd who went ahead and bought one anyway but became dissatisfied with some tiny wrinkle in the menu-option system, or for whom the grass suddenly becomes greener on the other side.

"Sony is going 75MP full frame! I'm switching to mirrorless!"

"But you've barely unboxed your... oh never mind, here's my money; send me your camera."
