Regarding the "minor" changes, Pentaxforums is still claiming the DA 560mm "cannot be labelled as a full frame lens". Perhaps they misunderstood something, again

D-FA* 70-200 is here now. I will probably receive my K-1 by the first week of May. I didn't pre-order mine early.

I look forward to your feedback - especially eagles in flight. That has been an area where I feel the K3 lets me down.

I share Adam's report on preserial K-1's AF hunting problem, that in my test was worse than with K-3 when compared using DFA*70-200.

My actual fear is : whilst tracking is bound to get better (because actually coming from so far away to what is needed), it is likely that enlarged space between AF points as settled in K-1 from (almost) the same pattern that K-3, might be of some concern regarding AF's global acuracy....
Which regarding the very demanding 36 Mpix sensor, could be tricky when using/needing thin dof...

I also board a plane for Alaska on May 13th. Our cruise includes two days in Denali among several stops.

I hope my pre-ordered (2/19) K-1 arrives in time.
If it does, it's AF system will be well broken-in by the time we return home.
If it does not, I have other terrific AF Pentax FF cameras to take along, one of which I was planning to take anyway:
