I wonder what the next model will be called. K-0?
After k10d; succeeding flagships were named with prime numbers or as one poster mentioned skipped one number from the previous model. Anyway I am not a fanboy as I am also using Olympus but I love how Pentax name their flagships. Simple and uncomplicated, very easy to remember and pronounce yet sounds mean with solid features. K1 sounds perfect name to me as FF precursor. Equates to words like prime, genesis, alpha, una and so on

Pentax certainly hasn't ever used names that are optimized for search engines. Think of all the *s in the names of both their cameras and their lenses. Fortunately, if you add the term "Pentax" to your search, it does tend to fix the issue.

Well, seeing as they seem to be going by increments of "-2," I think that maybe the next one would be the K-(-1). Would that make it a "K+1" since two negatives make a positive?

Or they could go fill in the missing gaps from where the K-7 was and count up..! The K-9 - best camera for dog lovers!

And... that is why I need to read the whole thread before commenting...
Well, depends upon which character owns the -

If the K owns the dash, the model number is parsed as K- 1
Each new model has had -2 added (7-2 , 5-2 , etc.)
The next model will be 1-2 = -1 > K--1 > K+1
Typically, a + isn't written in front of positive numbers.. we get K1

If the numeral owns the dash, the model number is K -1
Each new model has had +2 added (-7+2 , -5+2 , etc.)
The next model will be -1+2 = 1 > K1

We will go from K-1 to either K1 or K1
Either way, we will basically retravel again the same path of product numbers...

Perhaps they will try this
Kf-1 , Kf-2 , Kf-3 , Kf-5 , Kf-8 , Kf-13

The K20D was not a flagship?
