Please click the link in my post above (Forbes)

I did thank you! Interesting stuff there. The shot I put up is the Full Frame 36 Megapickle version of the road car on the Forbes link.

Let me drive.

Oh yeah.

How about the McLaren F1 road car?
Racer, with a car like that who needs a chick anyway? It would be awesome to have one of those if only for a day. Of course I would probably now need some help getting out of the beast.

For me, always... you could throw away the control that sets less, can't even entertain why I would ever do that.

Storage is relatively cheap these days and if processing on the Mac is slow either wait longer or upgrade the Mac.

Never before have we had the opportunity to shoot at such res DNGs (645 variants excluded), I'm sure as hell not throwing any of it away, but that's just me "full bore or nothing".

I don't see any reason to not use 36MP.

I'll always use 36 MP uncropped mode. To save space and avoid having to wade through zillions of pictures to find the one I'm looking for, I delete most pictures after downloading and only keep the best ones in a series and those which might come to use in the future. I also try to avoid trigger happiness while shooting. Rather a few well composed pictures than a burst of crap in hope of the odd saver. Saving time, space and peace of mind.

Soooooooooo............... OP here... guess what I bought this morning?

Yup. One of the last lucky few in Montreal to get one... might have even nabbed the last one available in the city!

Battery is charged and going to do some testing later! I wish I didn't have to prep for a work trip tonight!

I will likely shoot 12MP JPGs for the per-pixel performance and easily-shareable size, but also RAW so I can get back the extra res in post if I want.

I anticipate shooting RAW+ with small size jpg files that I can dump to my mobile device for quick shares. Plus, small jpg files are fun to use in-camera filters on.
