pentax k1 with shoe mount pttl flash, shutter lag?

Just wondered if any K1 owners have tested a shoe mount flash on the K1 in Pttl mode? If so, can you comment on whether there is a shutter lag when taking a picture in pttl flash mode? This is the case on K3II (the shutter lag is long enough to be noticeable and other modes don't exhibit this lag) and I'm hoping the K1 is immune from this behaviour.
Thanks so much,

Just tried my Metz 44 AF-1 on my shiny new K1 and it doesn't work! Manual mode is fine, but it doesn't trigger on TTL. Rechecked on K5, and it works fine.

Anyone else with Metz 44 AF-1 and K1 please check.

:-(

in a german Forum somebody reported the same problem with his Metz 58. Works in A Mode but not in PTTL. Seems that Metz has to make a firmware Update. Maybe it is because of the shorter flash sync time of the K1. If I remember right Ricoh made it faster. It isn't 1/180s any more now it is 1/200s... when I remember right.

Metzflash seems to work fine in HSS Mode. Try to use the HSS mode with 1/200s that should solve the problem

If you put your camera in CROP MODE it will work as expected. In FF mode it does not.

Thanks for the tip. Just tried this and can confirm my K-1 now works fine with the Metz 44 AF-1 in TTL mode when the K-1 is in crop mode. Look forward to Metz updating the firmware...

OK, I gotta say: that's just weird.............. Why would it work in crop mode but not FF? Maybe trying to calculate focal length for the zoom head??

I replied to this in another thread, but there is no shutter lag with the Pentax 540. Works beautifully.
