True BUT the Pentax offering in telephoto lenses has been paltry until the 150-450. Almost nothing above 300 for some time. For several years the only long lens solution for Pentax users was Sigma Zooms and Sigma Primes.
The Pentax telephoto line is still fairly sparse. It would be nice if Pentax introduced a modernized version of the F/FA 600 f4 with modern FL and ED glass and fast focus motors or a 400 f2.8
In my case I have the Sigma 150-500 and the Sigma 70-200 - Pentax had nothing in those ranges for a long time. To not have them not work with new Pentax cameras is an issue for me and a disappointment. I have to wonder why they work on both my K5 and K3 but do not work with the K1. This issue makes buying the K1 a very, very large hurdle.
