Will astrotracer work on K1

First off I just want to say I know it has it built in but I do have a astrotracer from when I bought the K5IIs. Now if I want to save as much camera battery by keeping the GPS off on the camera could I use the external astrotracer on it or would the camera just ignore it as its a built in feature? More a curiosity, I hope to get my hands on a K1 in the next month or so.

No, you cannot use the O-GPS1 with the K-1 unless you think it makes for a nice decoration

As for GPS battery drain, it's minimal unless you make use of the continuous track logging feature.

The astrotracer uses GPS and compass, no WiFi.

If you are worried about battery life I think you would be better served by just packing an extra battery... probably about the same size as the external GPS unit but it will give you much more battery bang for your buck.
