Passing on the K-1

I posted a month ago about wanting the K-1 since i've own the k-3. However right now it doesn't looking like I'm going to buy the k-1. The main reason is not enough lenses for me to make the switch and price. While the body is a good price, the lens are too expensive. On my old nikon D750, I had 50mm 1.8 for night club work and looking to buy 85mm 1.8 & macro lens. Right now the K-1 doesn't have prime FF 55mm 1.8 or 1.4. I can't find macro lens for the k-1. Maybe if Pentax comes out with the K-1 ii in the future then more lenses will be out.

There are two in the current lineup (the D FA 50mm and 100mm), both in the $250-399 range.

Pentax currently has 5 new lenses roadmapped, though I wouldn't expect them to be cheap. You can always turn to film-era lenses for that purpose.

Also, the DA 50mm works pretty well on FF!

Pentax currently sells an FA 50mm 1.4 lens and a 100mm and a 50mm macro lens available. These will all work with the F1. The Tamron macro lens will work too.

I'm pretty sure he is trolling. Anyone can look at the B&H catalog and see that what he says is false. In 2 years he has made 5 posts.

You aren't looking very hard: there are two current full format K mount 50-55mm f/1.4~f/1.8 lenses and over 50 legacy lenses from f/1.2~f4

There are several current macro lenses from Pentax*,Tamron and Sigma and well over 40 legacy macro lenses all of which are well suited to Full format.

*Granted, the DA35mm f/2.8 isn't suitable for use on full format, the D-FA100mm f/2.8 is.

If the A lenses work fine with the K-1 the 50mm f2.8 macro is an excellent all around fifty.

And the DA* 55mm f/1.4 appears to be fairly low in vignetting. Sandy Handcock is currently doing a month of shots with it on his K-1. A few early indicators had him worried but he has since made a number of excellent shots with it.

Pentax 55mm 1.4 work great in FF mode

I was surprised at how well it works in FF mode. It's one of my best lens that I keep on the K-1 for now.

The Sigma DG 105mm F2.8 EX Macro is full frame and would suit the K-1 and that is one excellent Macro Lens.

You are joking right? You meant not enough "DFA" series of lenses for K1 that I can understand. However, Pentax tradition is to bank on all the K mount lenses you currently have or you can "FIND". Is no differ than all the Leica cameras using old design of "Leica M" lenses. There is really no shortage of lenses actually. It's all in your mind.

First of all, they do have 55 1.8 just it's not FA.. It's a K. There are always macro as DFA 100 or FA 50/100 or even DA35.... I think what you are really saying is, "New camera came out, but I don't see enough new autofocus lenses coming out just like SONY when they first introduced A7 series".

I haven't got it yet! Using A7 here.. no need to upgrade at all. but I use a lot of PENTAX glasses on it. The result is simply amazing even A7 is "old tech".

The A7 has no way of allowing for autofocus with K lenses right?
