A200 macro or FA 200 macro.

Could someone with the above lens care to post some images taken with K1. ?

Would love to see the sharpness and bokeh of the images from the lens on this new beauty..

thank you.

I've already posted one image taken with my ancient 200 SMCA ED macro and my new K1, but I'll put up others here as this thread will now be on my subscriptions list.

A Picture

This is a bit of a technical image. It was shot with the FA* 200/4 macro, but it is a 26 image focus stack using the pixel shift function. The link is to a larger version of what is attached.

As requested some K1 + SMCA ED 200mm f4 macro images. Situation: lily photographed in my "studio," two flat-panel strobes right-left, close to symmetrically spaced. Slight tweaking of exposure and clarity in LR, but no sharpening.
1) first image @ f5
2) second image is a CROP from the first image, the stamen at roughly 8~9 o'clock.
3) third image @ f22
4. fourth image again a crop of the stamen at roughly 8~9 o'clock.
The lens doesn't seem to give up much to diffraction at f22.

Now, why do you suppose the 200mm macro is near legendary, and is the one lens I'll never let out of my collection no matter the price offered.

Thank you, wheatfield and rgknief60. I saw the exif and I am looking at the noise performance from this camera, beside the usual excellent bokeh the lens produces.
\Yes i am into stacking too and am using zerene. When will the noise be visible in normal lighting? iso 800 or iso 1600?. in normal lighting daylight. .. thanks once again.

ISO 100. I used acetate ND sheets to cut down the flash output to get f5 (no variable output on the strobes). For the second pair of images the ND sheets were removed and the lens was stopped downn until the exposure was right, which was at f22.

BTW: Other Pentax macro lenses are capable of similar IQ, but the 200 is, obviously, especially good for doing insects in the field.

Thank you. The lighting was nicely diffused that gave a soft look to the image. \just one more question, would there be a visible noise at iso 800 to 1600.? thanks once again.
