Speaking of Pentaxians...
I wonder how the new folks will be indoctrinated into the fold?
Now that I've had some time with the K1 (astonishing IQ/over the moon with it) I wonder what will be the "commonality of frustration" that binds us together?
The K1 is surely going to bring people into the fold because it is SO good.
I can't imagine anyone that uses a K1 to be disappointed.
We will never have another 16 years to wait for something...does that present a problem?
Granted, most of us just focused on shooting and doing our *thing* and loving the special nature of Pentax cameras.
However, many many times the whole "FF" thing was thrown in our faces.
Sure, we knew it was often thrown by fools who were more interested in specs than photography, but the ignoring of those slings and barbs *did* form some of the thick skin we endured as Pentaxians.
Now, with an awesome APS-C, Medium Format and now FF, we have nothing in that regard to "toughen our skins" with.
I guess we are back to a time, when we didn't have to feel threatened?
When we didn't have to bond with a brand that people loved to make fun of?
Are we on verge of being "cool"?
Maybe new Pentaxians will have a new take on being so, and maybe some of us (Older Pentaxians) will pine for the "good ol'"days, when we were the true rebels of the photography world and kept a brand/dream alive?
Maybe Pentax will NEVER be mainstream or cool.
And if we keep getting cameras like the K3/K1/645 - who cares?
