Maybe it was a strategy to attract more attention. I watched entire video because of the warning, just tried to figure out what was the negative part. I would have skip that review video after a few minutes.

A joke. But a risky communication strategy as irony will be misunderstood by some and pentaxians are known to be a particularly humourless bunch, which means alienating many viewers.

(See, just did again!)

It's a joke

I am a real estate lawyer, of which there are few who are more dull and pedantic, but I understood it as a joke.

I thought it was hilarious, as did all I know well on this forum. All jokes are based in genuine truth - that's why they, and this, are funny.
So in answer to your serious OP question: "yes" (hahhahahahahahahah)

It's a joke, and it was awesome.
Kinda like the ending of this...

TCS likes Pentax and gives us some ribbing now and then.
Nothing wrong with the folks over at TCS.

Speaking of Pentaxians...

I wonder how the new folks will be indoctrinated into the fold?

Now that I've had some time with the K1 (astonishing IQ/over the moon with it) I wonder what will be the "commonality of frustration" that binds us together?
The K1 is surely going to bring people into the fold because it is SO good.

I can't imagine anyone that uses a K1 to be disappointed.

We will never have another 16 years to wait for something...does that present a problem?

Granted, most of us just focused on shooting and doing our *thing* and loving the special nature of Pentax cameras.
However, many many times the whole "FF" thing was thrown in our faces.
Sure, we knew it was often thrown by fools who were more interested in specs than photography, but the ignoring of those slings and barbs *did* form some of the thick skin we endured as Pentaxians.

Now, with an awesome APS-C, Medium Format and now FF, we have nothing in that regard to "toughen our skins" with.

I guess we are back to a time, when we didn't have to feel threatened?
When we didn't have to bond with a brand that people loved to make fun of?

Are we on verge of being "cool"?

Maybe new Pentaxians will have a new take on being so, and maybe some of us (Older Pentaxians) will pine for the "good ol'"days, when we were the true rebels of the photography world and kept a brand/dream alive?

Maybe Pentax will NEVER be mainstream or cool.
And if we keep getting cameras like the K3/K1/645 - who cares?

Well that didn't took long. You really forgot that personal attacs like this one is where the warning is all about. Fine with me, I don't mind.

Presumably, our stubborn fondness for Pentax, despite all the badgering and belittling over the years from the CaNikon masses, equates
to zealotry for the simple fact that we hadn't agreed to follow their sense of conformity. Meh. Mainstream masses projecting their own
frustrations on the independently minded.

Ladies and gentlemen.
It is my opinion that a lot of people would rather go with the flow. That is not always the way we, who use Pentax gear, think and act. We like the cameras and lenses Pentax makes. We do not have to march by some other drummer's beat. The perception of which brand excels depends on the whole package. Not just few popular strengths that others might take as a reason to belittle other brands. I think that, although the writers of the review that this thread refers to do no enjoy some of our opinions, it is healthy for them to respond to a little pressure. Their tongue and cheek humor just indicates that they will evaluate what they say more carefully.
Regards,
Balticbelle
